Free Money not Free Speech

In the brilliantly researched and thoughtful book,  It’s Not Free Speech: Race, Democracy, and the Future of Academic Freedom, Penn State literature professor Michael Bérubé and Portland State film professor Jennifer Ruth conclude that “the time has passed for crossing our fingers and hoping that received wisdom such as free speech helps marginalized groups more than dominant ones has withstood the last decades’ worth of pressures.” Let’s face it–free speech is hate speech.

We at the Bear could not agree more, and suggest that is well past time to amend the First Amendment and replace free speech with free money. We suggest the following wording:

Congress shall make a law respecting the establishment of a woke religion that divides the world into the oppressors and the oppressed, and mandating the exercise thereof; mandating the redistribution of money and land from the oppressors to the oppressed; the establishment of a state newspaper run by the oppressed; and the right of the oppressed peaceably to assemble to burn buildings and police cars, and to petition the oppressors so that men can dress like women and compete in women’s’ sports.

Free money not free speech

This rewording is within our reach!
