Associate Dean Christine Nye Awarded the Freedom to Censor Award

Since national borders are are biggest impediment to a One World Government, Anduril has no right to speak at Cornell because it manufactures drones and surveillance technology used at the U.S. border to prevent border crossings. Anduril‘s technology has “identified and interdicted hundreds of thousands of border crossings.”

Just for laughs, Associate Dean of Students with Student Support and Advocacy Services Christine Nye read Cornell’s policies on expressive activity and free speech at the beginning of the event. While the policy states that invited speakers have the right to present their views without intimidation, while audience members who disagree may express their views as long as they do not disrupt the speaker’s ability to speak, nobody thought that Associate Dean Nye meant what she said. After all that is real FREE SPEECH!

Anduril’s representative gave up speaking after seven and a half minutes, which is a trivial amount of time given that two hours were allotted for the talk. The protest successfully censored the speaker from presenting his views without intimidation.

That is Associate Dean Christine Nye allowed Students for Justice in PalestineCornell ProgressivesMexican Students Association and Movimiento Estudiantil Chicanx de Aztlán de Cornell to cancel Anduril’s talk in the name of progress.

By having the courage to disregard Cornell University Policy by letting protestors shut down the speaker at the Anduril event, Associate Dean Christine Nye was awarded the  Freedom to Censor Award.

The Freedom to Censor Award

Associate Dean Nye’s courageous actions will have long-lasting effects. According to the Cornell Daily Sun, Adrianna Vink ’27, president of the Cornell Progressives, said

“I think this is an important lesson for us to learn as students, that when we show up and we make our values clear, we can make our university the place that we want it to be.”

Yes! We inmates are taking over the asylum!
