Cornell University in Ithaca and Weill Cornell Medicine in New York City have created a new program in Lip Service. The Ithaca campus is renowned for its ability to provide verbal lip service on any topic while the New York City campus is renowned for its surgical expertise in the full spectrum of plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic lip surgery. The expertise in the two campuses will be combined in the new program.
The College of Engineering will develop and provide silicon/silicone microchips that will simultaneously contain information on any subject and give the recipient fuller, more youthful-looking lips. The information in the chips can be released rapidly from the lips without having to pass through the brain. The procedure is safe for people from historically marginalized communities.
Working together with the Feminist, Gender & Sexuality Studies Program, the Cornell University Brand Center is developing a lipstick that is true to Cornell’s colors. While the new colored lipstick will be exclusively available to participants of the Program in Lip Service, it will be inclusive since it will be freely available to participants of all genders.
