To prepare for the upcoming 2023-2024 academic year’s theme of free expression, Cornell University has just purchased 87 empty suits.

The 87 empty suits will plan events and experiences designed to build knowledge and foster discussion.

The 87 empty suits will also provide opportunities for the development of skills essential for effective participation in democracy.

The 87 empty suits will make it possible for the efforts of the Steering Committee for Free Expression to have a greater public presence.

Lastly, consistent with the recommendations of The 2030 Project, the 87 empty suits are sustainable and will be re-used next year for the 2024-2025 academic year’s theme of artificial intelligence.
