We Stand with Ibram X.

We at the Babbling Bear stand behind Ibram X. Kendi and the Center for Antiracist  Research (CAR) amidst the false and racist allegations of wanton mismanagement…from Kendi’s staff. According to allegations, [i]t appears that what it means to do “racial research” has indeed been transformed: it now entails taking vast sums of other people’s money, then using it to produce almost nothing.

Duh!

After all, according to Ibram X., to be antiracist one must be anticapitalist, so the transformation of vast sums of other people’s money into almost nothing is almost what should have been expected. Still almost nothing, is more than nothing, and we should give the center more time so it can perfectly transform vast sums of other people’s money into exactly nothing.

Accomplishing this lofty goal is something we can do at Cornell!

In fact, we at the Bear are thrilled that amidst the unfair and racist allegations against Ibram X. that are occurring at Boston University, Cornell University has doubled down and is now installing the inaugural director of the university’s new Center for Racial Justice and Equitable Futures. We now have our own Ibram X., and more than that, she is a female XX to boot!

The center will connect and amplify the university’s research and scholarship around issues of racial injustice and inequality, and its work to develop more just and equitable public policy.

There is a tremendous breadth of scholarship across the university on issues of racism, indigeneity, ethnicity and bias,” President Martha E. Pollack said. “This new center, under Professor Michener’s leadership, will support and elevate that scholarship, advancing opportunities to break cycles of inequality and injustice.”

That’s antiracist and anticapitalist progress!
